The Metro Tunnel Project has commissioned one of Australia's pre-eminent multi-disciplinary artists, Maree Clarke, to deliver its line-wide legacy artwork which will help create a distinctive and unique commuting experience across the new line.

The line-wide artwork will feature across all 5 new underground stations – Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac.

Maree is a Yorta Yorta / Wamba Wamba / Mutti Mutti / Boonwurrung woman who grew up in Mildura and now lives in Melbourne. Her work connects the past with the present – telling stories of Aboriginal people, their connections to Country and cultural practices that extend back more than 60,000 years.

While Maree’s design will feature across the new Metro Tunnel line, other permanent artworks will be installed in the 5 new stations.

Artists have been shortlisted for Arden, State Library, Parkville and Anzac station artwork commissions. These artists will commence concept development shortly, with the final station artists announced in mid-late 2020.
