Funding to boost Streeton Primary School’s outdoor education program

Streeton Primary School in Yallambie is gearing up to build a large outdoor space to complement its unique outdoor education permaculture farm.

As a recipient of a grant from the North East Community Fund, the school is set build an outdoor education area complete with wood fired pizza ovens and seating so students can cook and eat the food they’ve grown themselves.

The fund will contribute $100,000 to the school, to build the outdoor community gathering and learning space as part of the school’s permaculture farm.

Principal Leon Bell said the new shelter will enable the school to build on its outdoor program, where students can study the environment and continue to make an impact.
