Local and international market interest to deliver Geelong Fast Rail
Companies with origins ranging from Melbourne to Madrid – and with significant experience on major projects here and abroad – have registered interest in helping to deliver the first stage of Geelong Fast Rail.
In the space of only a few months, more than 70 companies specialising in construction, engineering, rail systems and more have provided their details as part of an ongoing Registrations of Interest process.
Announced late last year, the first stage of Geelong Fast Rail will cut travel times between Geelong and Melbourne to around 50 minutes, by upgrading the more-direct Werribee corridor and diverting some Geelong Line services along that route.
Detailed planning work is progressing to refine several aspects of the project including scope, timing and expected cost, with an extensive site investigations program to better understand existing ground conditions along the rail corridor expected to start later this year.
To support our experts within Rail Projects Victoria, we’re also seeking technical advisor services – either a single company or consortium of companies – to provide additional support with engineering, communications and stakeholder engagement activities.
