Unearthed workshop: Dan Bowran
Join local glass artist Dan Bowran for an evening of learning copper foiling and discovering discarded archaeological materials from the Metro Tunnel dig. Dan has over 20 years’ experience of studying and working with glass.
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the more than century-old glass technique of copper foiling, famously used in Tiffany lampshades. Dan will be discussing technical and aesthetic details of the process, and demonstrating how to correctly apply, join, and finalise your copper foil and glass creations using discarded glass fragments unearthed during the Metro Tunnel excavations.
This workshop is presented in collaboration with Craft Victoria.
