Bulleen Park & Ride open

We’re building Melbourne’s first dedicated busway – starting with completing the new park and ride at the corner of Thompsons Road and Kampman Street in Bulleen.

Buses started running from Bulleen Park & Ride on 30 April 2023. It’s the first part of building the Eastern Express Busway, Melbourne's first dedicated busway from Doncaster towards the city.

Bulleen Park & Ride makes it easier to catch faster, more frequent buses to and from the city. The premium station includes:

  • a 5000 square metre green roof community park
  • parking for up to 370 cars
  • quick drop-off and pick-up bays
  • walking and cycling paths that connect to Koonung Creek Trail and Thompsons Road
  • bike storage cage and hoops
  • ramps, toilets and myki services.

Bus routes

There are timetable changes to bus routes 200305309 and 905 for buses using the park and ride.

Bus routes 305309 and 905 will service Bulleen Park & Ride, while bus route 200 will have a stop change on Thompsons Road so passengers can be dropped off and picked up closer to the park and ride.

Melbourne's first dedicated busway

The Eastern Express Busway from Doncaster towards the city is Melbourne’s first dedicated busway. High-speed bus lanes will pass under the Eastern Freeway interchange ramps at up to 100km an hour, making it quicker and easier to get to and from the city – reducing travel times for more than 6 million express bus trips a year.

Rapid bus lanes

Separated from the freeway from Doncaster to Hoddle Street, with buses travelling at up to 100km an hour.

2 park and rides

Work to build a new park and ride in Bulleen is complete and we'll upgrade Doncaster Park & Ride – doubling the number of commuter parking spaces for express bus services to the city.

A section of the Eastern Express busway in Bulleen and Balwyn North was on exhibition for public comment from 11 May to 31 May 2022 as part of the North East Link Tunnels Urban Design and Landscape Plan.
