Southern Program Alliance and Monero Constructions

Monero Constructions, an Aboriginal-owned concrete company specializing in form work and structural concreting, was founded by Gary Mongta in 2017. Their journey began with Southern Program Alliance (SPA)’s Coleman Rail, which trusted Gary’s expertise, awarding Monero their first opportunity on the Seaford level crossing removal project.

Initially a small subcontractor, Monero gradually expanded its scope of work under SPA's guidance, enhancing their capabilities and capacity sustainably. SPA provided crucial legal and financial support, negotiating favorable payment terms with Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) to facilitate Monero's growth without extensive debt.

Today, Monero is the largest Aboriginal business in the LXRP supply chain, collaborating with all five Alliances and contributing to various Big Build projects. Their services to LXRP encompass concreting, SUP (shared use path) construction, earthworks, form reo work, kerb & channel, and steel fixing.

Monero takes pride in incorporating Indigenous art into their projects, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. Gary emphasizes the projects' significance in providing both infrastructure improvements and meaningful job opportunities for Indigenous workers, fostering a pathway into the construction industry for multiple generations.
