Cross Yarra Partnership and ECB Training Services

Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) is a Public Private Partnership consisting of Lendlease Engineering, John Holland and Bouygues Construction. It is delivering twin rail tunnels and 5 new underground stations as part of the Metro Tunnel Project.

Indigenous-owned business ECB Training Services was initially engaged by CYP to deliver training on the Metro Tunnel Project. Located in Melbourne and the Northern Territory it also a Kinaway certified Aboriginal businesses.

ECB Training Services is an Indigenous-owned registered training organisation specialising in mining, civil construction, and general construction industries. ECB Training started in Darwin before moving to Melbourne and connecting with CYP through a trainer who had worked with them in the Northern Territory.

Since it began working on the Metro Tunnel Project ECB has grown to become the first preference by contractors to meet their training needs.

ECB Training Services has provided full-day induction training to CYP subcontractors, including both spotter and fire training.

Other training provided by ECB Training includes permit-to-work training, isolation training, manual handling, specialist rescue training and various height safety training, confined spaces and various plant and equipment training.

CYP benefits from using a well-established and successful registered training organisation while also supporting an Indigenous business.
