Cross Yarra Partnership and Wamarra Pty Ltd Services

Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) have engaged the Aboriginal business Wamarra Pty Ltd Services to deliver training on the Metro Tunnel Project.

CYP is a Public Private Partnership consisting of Lendlease Engineering, John Holland and Bouygues Construction. It is delivering twin rail tunnels and 5 new underground stations as part of the Metro Tunnel Project.

Wamarra Pty Ltd is an Aboriginal-owned and operated civil contractor, providing meaningful long-term economic independence and career opportunities for Aboriginal people and their communities. Wamarra specialises in providing design, management, trades, and all materials to projects and supporting tier 1 and 2 contractors across a range of sectors.

The services cover the full spectrum of civil contracting including site establishment, earthworks, hard/ soft landscaping, fencing, hoarding, concreting, drainage, flexible/permanent pavements, and carpentry.

Since Wamarra was launched in February 2020, the business has grown to employ 93 staff across blue- and white-collar operations. There are 55 full-time employees who identify as Aboriginal, working in a variety of roles throughout the business.
