Rail Network Alliance and Multicultural Consulting Services
Metro Tunnel contractor Rail Network Alliance (RNA) comprising John Holland, CPB Contractors, AECOM, Alstom, Metro Trains Melbourne, and Metro Tunnel Project Office is delivering works that will enable the operation of the Metro Tunnel and the High-Capacity Metro Trains.
RNA has a strong focus on Local Jobs First, benefiting local businesses and workers.
One of these businesses is the Victorian social enterprise Multicultural Consulting Services (MCS), which is working with RNA on engagement and support for local priority jobseekers.
Through MCS RNA has hired 28 cadets and 3 trainees who have contributed an amazing 55,000 hours to the Metro Tunnel Project. These hours are part of the Major Project Skills Guarantee (MPSG), a Victorian government initiative that provides opportunities for apprentices, trainees and cadets to work on Victoria's largest construction project.
As of November 2024, over 2.8 million total hours have been worked by apprentices, trainees, and cadets on the Metro Tunnel project.
MCS provides a comprehensive, holistic service that supports priority job seekers, their families, and the wider community. MCS has supported RNA in developing a strong platform of priority job seekers, enabling their own stories and that of their communities to be told.
RNA also provides a pathway for priority jobseekers to obtain further experience and qualifications with many of these workers selected by either John Holland, CPB or AECOM to take part in graduate programs.
