As a Senior Contract Administrator in the Manningham Road Cut and Cover team, Celia plays a key role in managing the full contract lifecycle, from procurement and tendering through to contract delivery, payment processes and project completion.
For Celia, one of the most rewarding parts of working in construction is seeing projects come to life and knowing her work has contributed to a major piece of infrastructure that will benefit the community for years to come.
While construction has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, Celia says her experience has been shaped by a workplace culture that values confidence, professionalism and capability. Seeing women in senior commercial and leadership roles across the project has also reinforced that career progression in the industry is both visible and achievable.
Her advice to other women considering a career in construction is simple: say yes to opportunities, even if they feel unfamiliar at first. By stepping outside her comfort zone and taking opportunities as they came, Celia says she was able to accelerate both her professional growth and career development.
