Hind joined the North East Link Project after moving to Australia from the United Arab Emirates, where she had lived for 10 years following her earlier career in electrical engineering in Syria. She first joined Spark through a migrant women’s program in the sustainability team before moving into her current role as a Commissioning Analyst in the Mechanical, Electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems team.
In her role, Hind works with project data to help track progress, performance and key project outcomes. From collecting and cleaning data through to creating reports for engineers and project teams, her work supports the delivery and commissioning of the project’s mechanical and electrical systems.
For Hind, one of the most rewarding aspects of the role is seeing complex systems come together and understanding how her work contributes to the successful delivery of a major infrastructure project.
Being part of a project that will have a lasting impact on Victoria is something Hind says motivates her every day. She hopes her journey highlights the value of creating pathways for women from diverse backgrounds to build meaningful careers in construction, engineering and infrastructure.
