In April 2018, the Victorian State Government announced Victoria’s Social Procurement Framework which aims to leverage governments significant buying power to drive increased value for money in all procured goods, services, and construction.

The Social Procurement Framework is closely aligned to various state government initiatives.

Social Procurement at MRPV

We work closely with our construction partners under the PDA Model to ensure that the projects we deliver create social value over and above the built infrastructure.

Social value describes the economic, social, and environmental benefits that we deliver for the Victorian community across our supply chain.

What we expect from our suppliers

Social procurement performance is measured through a standard reporting framework.

As part of that framework, we expect our suppliers to:

  • deliver on time and to cost, demonstrating efficiency and value for money
  • work collaboratively with us, our stakeholders, and other suppliers
  • drive innovation and new ways of working
  • provide fair and equitable workplaces, free of bullying and discrimination
  • highlight and share social procurement best practice across the industry and with our extended supply chain
  • align with state government Social Procurement Framework goals and values
  • support state government environmental priorities around building sustainable communities.
