A new era for the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority

The Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) is an administrative office of the Department of Transport and Planning, and is delivering more than 200 projects such as the Metro Tunnel, North East Link, West Gate Tunnel, removing 110 level crossings, building new hospitals and upgrades to ambulance stations, specialist health services and early parenting centres.

The Authority recently welcomed the Victorian Health Building Authority and has taken the first steps towards uniting Victoria’s rail delivery agencies.

Flowing on from this work, the names and corporate identities of our project offices changed as of 21 August 2025.

  • Level Crossing Removal Project will become VIDA Rail – reflecting the broad suite of projects they are now delivering, and the transition of the organisation to the single rail delivery agency following the opening of the Metro Tunnel.
  • Victorian Health Building Authority will become VIDA Health.
  • Major Roads Projects Victoria will become VIDA Roads.

This marks the beginning of the next chapter for VIDA as it continues to deliver a landmark infrastructure program to improve the lives of all Victorians.
