22 January 2026

We’re upgrading Ballarat Station to improve accessibility, safety, and connectivity for all public transport users, while considering the heritage of the station.

The project will be complete in April 2026 when we will open the new accessible pedestrian overpass, lift and stairs to each platform.

What we’re doing

We’ll work at night on Sunday 1, Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 February, while trains aren’t running due to V/Line maintenance works to:
  • Remove, clean and reinstall sections of the platform canopies
  • Work on the new lift and stair lobby areas

What to expect

While we work in Ballarat Station you may experience:

  • low levels of noise and vibration
  • construction vehicles in our project site areas and surrounding roads

When we’ll work

From 8pm on Sunday 1 February until 5am on Wednesday 4 February 2026, we’ll work each night to   complete works on and around the platforms while trains aren’t running.

At other times, we’ll work Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturdays as required, 7am to 1pm.
