We’re upgrading Boronia Station and building a new landscaped plaza on Dorset Road to deliver a modern and accessible precinct for the community.

What we’re doing

Throughout January, we’ll continue setting up the temporary site compound at 257 Dorset Road, Boronia. During this time, we’ll also:

  • start setting up a temporary laydown area on the northern corner of Erica Avenue and Orchid Avenue to store construction equipment
  • remove seven trees and some vegetation from Boronia Station Reserve and near the corner of Lupton Way and Dorset Road to allow for the construction of the new pocket park and station facilities. Logs from these trees will form part of the final landscaping design.

In early February, building demolition works will begin at 251 and 253 Dorset Road, to make space for the new landscaped plaza.

Our usual working hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, and Saturday 7am to 3pm. There will be no works from Saturday 20 December to Sunday 18 January. Works will resume Tuesday 13 January, but you may see workers on site at other times. We’ll make every effort to complete these works on schedule, however dates are subject to change.

What to expect

You may notice:

  • an increase in construction activity, machinery, vehicles and workers
  • reduced speed limits and traffic management in place around our works
  • an increase in noise, dust and vibration near works areas. Our team will have controls in place to reduce and monitor these impacts

Before building demolition works begin, asbestos identified at 251 and 253 Dorset Road will be safely removed in line with strict health and safety guidelines. We’ll follow environmental controls in line with legislative requirements, to ensure the ongoing safety of both our workers and the community.

Changes to the way you travel

Road

  • Lupton Way closed at times near the corner of Dorset Road from Monday 19 January to Wednesday 21 January.
  • Lupton Way closed at times between Dorset and Chandler roads from Monday 19 January until late 2026.
  • Near the northern corner of Erica and Orchid avenues, road closures at times from Monday 19 January until late 2026.

Carpark

  • Boronia Station Reserve intermittent access delays to the level 2 station carpark accessed via Boronia Junction ramp from Monday 19 January to Wednesday 21 January.
  • Around 2 car parks closed behind 241 Dorset Road from Monday 19 January to Wednesday 21 January.
  • Around 4 car parks closed outside 251 and 253 Dorset Road from early February.

Pedestrian

  • Footpath closure outside 251 and 253 Dorset Road from early February.
