We’re upgrading Boronia Station and building a new landscaped plaza on Dorset Road to deliver a modern and accessible precinct for the community.

What we’re doing

Throughout March and into April, we’ll:

  • continue demolition of buildings at 251 and 253 Dorset Road, Boronia, and begin installing drainage and underground services for the new plaza
  • relocate underground drainage and begin works on the new protective services office on Lupton Way
  • start building the foundations of the new station facilities building next to Boronia Station Reserve
  • remove seven trees and some vegetation from Boronia Station Reserve and near the corner of Lupton Way and Dorset Road. This work was first notified in December and has been delayed to March.

Our usual working hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, and Saturday 7am to 3pm. We’ll make every effort to complete these works on schedule, however dates are subject to change.

What to expect

You may notice:

  • an increase in construction activity, machinery, vehicles and workers
  • an increase in noise, dust and vibration near works areas. Our team will have controls in place to reduce and monitor these impacts
  • reduced speed limits and traffic management in place around our works: please plan ahead in case of delays
  • no access to trader carparks off Lupton Way
  • short pedestrian and cyclist detours around works areas.

Lupton Way closure

Lupton Way will be closed from Friday 27 March until late September 2026 while we construct the new station precinct. We’ll be in touch with impacted traders directly and work to mitigate this impact.

During the Lupton Way closure, traders will have access to bins on Lupton Way, and we’ll facilitate access for bin collection throughout the works. Pedestrian access to the Station Arcade bathrooms will be available via the arcade at all times.

Changes to the way you travel

Please follow signage and detours. Traffic management will be in place during works to safely guide you through the area.

Road

Lupton Way

  • Closed to vehicles from Friday 27 March until late September 2026. Detour via Dorset Road.
  • Delays expected at times until late 2026.

Erica and Orchid avenues

  • Road closures near the northern corner of Erica and Orchid avenues at times until late 2026.

Pedestrian

Lupton Way

  • Pedestrian access between Chandler Road and the station entrance closed from Friday 27 March until late September 2026.
  • Eastern station entrance closed from Friday 27 March until late September 2026.
  • Western station entrance remains open. Access via the southern footpath on Lupton Way.

Boronia Station (eastern entrance)

  • Lupton Way station entrance closed from Wednesday 11 March to Saturday 14 March.
  • Please use the western station entrance. Access via the southern footpath on Lupton Way.

Boronia Station Reserve

  • Pedestrian access closed on the rail side between Boronia Junction car park and the western station entrance from Monday 2 March to late 2026. Short pedestrian detour via the reserve and bus interchange.

Dorset Road (between Chandler Road and Lupton Way)

  • Footpath closed outside 251 and 253 Dorset Road from Tuesday 24 February to Wednesday 11 March.
  • Detour via pedestrian crossings and the east side of Dorset Road.

Parking

Boronia Station multi-deck car park (near Erica Avenue station entry)

  • Access delays to level 2 via the Boronia Junction ramp at times from Monday 2 March until late 2026.
  • Two accessible car spaces near the station entrance on level 2 temporarily closed at times.

Lupton Way

  • No access to trader car parking from Lupton Way from Friday 27 March until late September 2026.

Erica and Orchid avenues

  • Informal parking closed at times until late 2026.
