30 October 2025
We’ve removed the dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert, and opened the new Union Station.
What we’re doing
We’ll carry out up to 2 nights of asphalting and line marking works in Surrey Hills and Mont Albert, overnight on Monday 10 November and Tuesday 11 November, 2025. The locations will include Union Road (near the corner of Windsor Crescent), Windsor Crescent (near the corner of Alexandra Crescent) and Lorne Parade. These dates will be dependent upon weather conditions.
In some locations, partial road and footpath closures may be required with traffic management in place to help detour local traffic.
What to expect
During this time, you should expect:
- One to 2 nights of works, between the hours of 8pm and 6am
- Moderate levels of noise, dust and vibration
- Light spill from a temporary light tower
- Construction crews, equipment, vehicles and trucks on local roads
- Local road and footpath closures with detours in place
Every effort will be made to complete works within these time frames and keep noise to a minimum.
The dates are subject to change depending on the weather.
