13 October 2025
We’ve removed the dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert, and opened the new Union Station
What we’re doing
We’ll carry out staged footpath works, close to the corner of Windsor Crescent and Alexandra Crescent in Surrey Hills from Monday 20 October until early November, 2025.
A shuttle flow traffic arrangement will be in place throughout these day works, between 7am and 6pm.
Sections of footpaths will close at times but signed detours will be in place.
One shift during these works will involve a road closure along Windsor Crescent with a short local detour in place.
These works will involve:
- New kerb construction, footpath and pram ramps, providing better connectivity to the rail replacement bus stop
- New asphalt installed on a small section of Windsor Crescent and adjustment of signage
What to expect
During this time, you should expect:
- Approximately 3 weeks of works, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 6pm
- Low to moderate levels of noise, dust and vibration
- Construction crews, vehicles and trucks on local roads
- Local footpath detours in place
- A road closure involving a short local detour for one shift, in late October / early November
Every effort will be made to complete works within these time frames and keep noise to a minimum.
The dates are subject to change depending on the weather.
