7 March 2024

We’re removing the level crossings at Dublin Road, Ringwood East and Bedford Road, Ringwood, which will make Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.

We are working 24/7 until late March to remove the level crossing at Bedford Road on the Belgrave Line in Ringwood. During this time, we’ll be working on commissioning the new Bayswater power station and buses will replace trains on sections of the Belgrave Line.

As part of the new substation commissioning works, we will be removing old cabling and installing new rail cabling in the rail corridor from 7am, Friday 8 March to 6pm, Sunday 24 March.

To undertake these works we will be accessing the rail corridor through the carpark at 13 Burton Court. We will temporarily fence off approximately 20 car spaces in the car park to create a safe work space. The remainder of the carpark will be accessible for public use.

We will also have traffic management onsite when there is the delivery and removal of major equipment, to keep carpark users safe.

Intermittent and full closure of the shared user path at Bayswater Station

We will be working to replace cables along the shared user path for the new power station with intermittent closures until 6pm Wednesday 13 March. Then there will be full closure from 7am Thursday 14 March to 6pm Monday 25 March. Pedestrian detours are available along the footpath on Station Street. There may be times that we may need work at night on the shared user path, however we do not expect any noise impact to local residents arising from these works.

Night works

As part of our commissioning works, there may be times we need to work at night in the rail corridor from Thursday 14 March to Sunday 24 March. We do not expect these works to be excessively noisy, with minimal impact on nearby residents.

We will also be working 24/7 from 7am Friday 15 March to 6pm Tuesday 19 March to demolish the existing tie station on Station Street, Bayswater and prepare the new power station for commissioning.

Outside of these works, we will continue working at the new power station site during normal construction hours between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am and 3pm, Saturdays throughout March.
