26 February 2024

We’re removing the level crossings at Dublin Road, Ringwood East and Bedford Road, Ringwood, which will make Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.

A reminder that we’re working around the clock to remove the Bedford Road level crossing until April 2024. During this time, we’ll be working on commissioning the new Bayswater power station and buses will replace trains on sections of the Belgrave Line.

Night works

We will be working 24/7 from 7am Saturday 16 March until 6pm Tuesday 19 March to demolish the existing tie station on Station Street, Bayswater and undertake works to prepare the new power station for commissioning.

Outside of these works, we will continue working at the new power station site during normal construction hours between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am and 3pm, Saturdays throughout March.

What we’re doing

  • Non-destructive digging works, which involves using high pressure water and a vacuum truck to excavate carefully into the ground to investigate underground services.
  • Installing new underground cables that power the rail network in and around the existing power station.
  • Installing new power equipment on Station Street and Scoresby Road, Bayswater.
  • Road reinstatement and asphalting.

Impacts to local roads and parking
