1 August 2024
We've removed the level crossings at Bedford Road, Ringwood and Dublin Road, Ringwood East, and opened the new Ringwood East Station, making Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.
With the level crossing at Bedford Road now gone for good, some completion works will take place during August.
Belgrave Line disruptions
Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) will be undertaking routine maintenance works along the train line, with bus replacement services in place from Blackburn to Belgrave and Lilydale from 10:50pm Friday 9 August to last service Sunday 11 August.
Buses will also replace trains on sections of the Lilydale and Belgrave lines for project works from 10:30pm Friday 16 August to last service Sunday 18 August.
Plan ahead and check the PTV website before you travel for information on disruptions.
During both these periods, we’ll work around Bedford Road, and within the rail trench while trains aren’t running.
Works will include:
- fencing reinstatement
- removal of temporary project buildings next to Bedford Road at night
- power pole removal and replacement on Bedford Road, involving a power outage
- track works in the rail corridor
- sitewide cleaning within the rail corridor
- removal of construction materials/barriers/signage sitewide within the corridor
- tamping, which involves a machine used to pack and level track ballast.
