4 April 2024

We’ve removed the level crossing at Bedford Road, Ringwood, while construction continues to remove the level crossing at Dublin Road, Ringwood East which will make Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.

While our major construction blitz is complete, we will undertake ongoing finishing works around Bedford Road and the rail corridor, such as cleaning up our sites and building the missing walking and cycling link between the Heathmont Rail Trail and Bedford Park.

In April 2024, we’ll continue to work during the day from 7am to 6pm in and around the rail corridor.

Works will include:

  • removing temporary fencing
  • removing worker crib sheds
  • finishing footpath reinstatement on a section of Pitt and Great Ryrie Street
  • building the shared use path in the rail corridor.

Temporary overnight closure of Bedford Road – 16 April

Between 12am and 3am on Tuesday 16 April, we will temporarily close a small section of Bedford Road between Pitt Street and Great Ryrie Street to traffic to remove our crib sheds from our site. A crane will be parked on Bedford Road to lift the sheds onto a truck.

Detours will be available via Ford Street, Best Street and Great Ryrie Street. Traffic management will be in place to help cars and pedestrians move around the area safely.
