17 June 2024

We’ve removed the level crossing at Bedford Road, Ringwood, while construction continues to remove the level crossing at Dublin Road, Ringwood East which will make Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.

While our major construction blitz is complete, we will undertake ongoing finishing works around Bedford Road and the rail corridor, such as cleaning up our sites and building the missing walking and cycling link between the Heathmont Rail Trail and Bedford Park.

What we’re doing

From Wednesday 19 June until Saturday 29 June, we’ll install a new rail access driveway and lighting at the end of Myrtle Avenue, Heathmont.

Works will include:

  • ground investigations using non-destructive digging machinery and hand tools
  • installation of two lighting posts on the shared use path
  • cutting the existing concrete driveways, installing drainage and pouring the new concrete driveway.
  • Access to the Heathmont Rail Trail will be temporarily closed at Myrtle Avenue and Leawarra Drive. A pedestrian detour will be in place via Campbell Street.
  • Intermittent onsite traffic management will be in place to help road users and pedestrians safely navigate the local area.
  • Continued presence of workers, truck movements and construction equipment.

Works will occur during the day from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays.

What to expect

Please be aware that works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside of our control. We will get in touch with you if this needs to occur.
