26 February 2024
We’re removing the level crossings at Dublin Road, Ringwood East and Bedford Road, Ringwood, which will make Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.
Works taking place
From Tuesday 30 January until April 2024, we will be working 24/7 to remove the level crossing at Bedford Road on the Belgrave Line in Ringwood.
As part of this work, we will need to temporarily use the Tarrawarra Railway Yard to deliver and store rail material from Bedford Road to the site.
We have previously advised that works are taking longer than expected due to extreme weather and site conditions. Due to these factors, we will need to continue using the site for a longer period than initially expected.
We will continue working during normal day time construction hours between 7am, Monday 26 February to 6pm, Friday 1 March 2024.
What to expect
Trucks carrying rail material in and out of site, and works within the Tarrawarra Railway Yard until Friday 1 March.
Residents may experience increased noise levels and associated impacts including:
- increased truck movements and noise from trucks and other vehicles in the area, during the day;
- an increase in construction noise, activity and some dust, with vehicles, machinery and workers on site.
Please be aware that works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside of our control.
We encourage local residents to contact us if they have any further queries about these works. Residents most impacted by these works will be contacted directly.
