We’re removing the level crossings at Dublin Road, Ringwood East and Bedford Road, Ringwood, which will make Ringwood level crossing free in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.

Works taking place

From Tuesday 30 January to April, we are working 24/7 to remove the level crossing at Bedford Road on the Belgrave Line in Ringwood.

As part of this work, we will need to temporarily use Cardigan Road Reserve to load and transport rail material to our Bedford Road site.

We will be accessing the reserve during normal construction hours from 7am to 6pm, Monday 4 March to Saturday 9 March.

Night works 12 to 16 March

In addition, from Tuesday 12 March to Saturday 16 March, we will be accessing the reserve 24/7 to load and transport rail materials to our Bedford Road site.

What to expect

Trucks carrying rail material will be accessing Cardigan Road Reserve during the day from Monday 4 March to Saturday 9 March, and then day and night from Tuesday 12 March to Saturday 16 March.

Residents may experience increased noise levels and associated impacts including:

  • increased truck movements and noise from trucks and other vehicles in the area, both day and night
  • an increase in construction noise, activity and some dust, with vehicles, machinery and workers on site
  • targeted lighting for work areas with measures in place to prevent significant light spill into nearby properties.

Please be aware works can sometimes take longer than expected or need to be rescheduled due to weather and other factors outside of our control.

We encourage local residents to contact us if they have any further queries about these works. Residents most impacted by these works will be contacted directly.
