Acknowledgement and welcome to all nominees made by Chair Danny Pearson MP.

The first meeting of the Buckley Street, Essendon Stakeholder Liaison Group (SLG) provided an introduction to the group, an overview of members' roles and responsibilities as well as an overview of the level crossing solution. The meeting allowed SLG members to ask questions and identify concerns about the design.

Members were informed that the road underpass solution has been endorsed by the Minister for Public Transport, Jacinta Allan.

An update was provided about the procurement phase and the announcement of the construction partner in the coming weeks.

Members were given information packs which included a project timeline, meeting agenda, terms of reference which SLG members were asked to review and sign, code of conduct, community update (Issue #1 March 2017) and a map of the 50 crossings scheduled for removal by the Level Crossings Removal Project (LXRP).

Members were asked to be a conduit for communication between LXRP and the community.

They were asked to disseminate information that is important for the community and also let LXRP know what questions, ideas and concerns community members are discussing.
