Major works to remove the Corrigan Road, Heatherton Road and Chandler Road level crossings and rebuild Noble Park Station are underway!

These crossings are among Victoria's worst, with boom gates down for more than 73 minutes in the morning peak.

A month of progress

Noble Park has been a hub of activity this month with over 65 Super T beams installed around the station precinct and between Corrigan Road and Heatherton Road. We will be working hard during July to complete all piling work.

Over the coming months, construction of Noble Park Station will commence, piers will continue to go up to form the foundation of elevated rail and pile caps will continue to be constructed.

Information hub open!

The Noble Park information hub is now open in the station carpark. Make sure you drop in to see our construction progress and ask our community team any questions about our works.

The hub is open Tuesdays 9am to 5pm, Wednesdays 3pm to 7pm and every second Saturday 9am to 12pm.

Mythbuster

Myth: There won’t be any room left for parkland around station car parking.

Truth: We will be able to deliver around 500 new parking spaces at key locations along the corridor without substantially impacting the linear parkland created by the project.

Future focus

The project will deliver significant benefits to Melburnians – improving safety, reducing road congestion and creating 22.5 hectares of new community space.

We are also helping build a skilled workforce for the future. In partnership with the Chisholm Institute, we have established a new training centre (New Employment Exchange and Training), which is providing tailored training for apprentices and entry-level workers.

Rail disruptions

We are working hard to minimise disruptions, with trains running the majority of the time. However, there will be some disruptions as we deliver this significant project:

  • Buses will replace trains between Caulfield and Dandenong from 12.30am Saturday 22 July until the last service on Sunday 23 July 2017. Train services will resume on Monday 24 July 2017.

We apologise for the inconvenience while we complete these important works.
