1 September 2017
Major works are underway to remove level crossings at Chandler, Corrigan and Heatherton roads and rebuild Noble Park Station. Each day we’re moving closer to getting you home faster and safer.
Major milestones met
The installation of piers in Noble Park is now complete, as is the installation of beams – including the main spans across the Heatherton Road level crossing!
New station works underway
The hollow core beams have been installed at Noble Park Station, which will create part of the new station platform.
Open space consultation reports released
The Caulfield to Dandenong project undertook an extensive consultation program, allowing everyone the opportunity to have a say on what the 22.5 hectares of new open space should look like.
In August the project released a report that outlines the recommendations from the Community Open Space Expert Panel. We also published a report that outlines the key feedback, ideas and recommendations received from the community. The reports are available on our website.
The final open space detailed design will be released in late 2017.
New tracks on their way
We’re almost at the halfway point for the new rail decks, which the new tracks will sit on.
Myth: Trucks and buses cannot fit under the elevated rail.
Fact: The heights of the elevated tracks over road vary from 4.7 to 5.9m, which exceed the standards set by VicRoads. Height limits for heavy vehicles in Australia are generally 4.3m and for double decker buses the limit is 4.4m.
Disruptions
Rail
Buses will replace trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines between Caulfield and Dandenong stations from 12.30am Saturday 28 October until the last service on Sunday 29 October 2017.
We appreciate your patience while we continue this important project to upgrade the Cranbourne – Pakenham Line.
