The Cranbourne and Pakenham lines are boom gate free and trains are running through the Metro Tunnel. We’re continuing construction of the new road under the rail line, connecting Princes Highway-Lonsdale Street to Cheltenham and Hammond roads. The new road underpass will open in spring – 2 years ahead of schedule.

What we’re doing

To prepare to connect the new road underpass to Cheltenham Road, we’re building alternate access to Dandenong Station car park for commuters and rail replacement buses.

To safely complete works, we’ll temporarily close up to 50 car spaces in the Dandenong Station car park and on Station Street from 7am, Tuesday 4 August to 3pm, Saturday 8 August. We’ll also need to temporarily close these car parks for bus driver training for one day in mid August.

What to expect

  • On-street and station parking space closures from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 3pm, Saturday.
  • Increased noise, vibration, vehicles and workers in the area. Water carts and street sweepers will be used to minimise dust.

Access will be maintained for your business and emergency services.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however, dates and times are subject to change.

Changes to the way you travel

Parking

From 7am, Tuesday 4 August to 3pm, Saturday 8 August and one day in mid  August:

  • Gravel car park at Dandenong Station (northern end of Station street) closed.
  • Temporary closure of up to  12 car spaces at Dandenong Station – please check station signage for more information.
  • Temporary  closure of up to 10 on-street car spaces on Station Street.
  • Alternative parking available in the Carroll Lane car park.
