On 14 June 2018, the Minister for Planning designated the Abbotts Road Dandenong South Level Crossing Removal Project Area under section 95 of the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 (MTPF Act).

The project area is shown in the plans LEGL./17-420 Sheets 1 to 8 (inclusive) PDF, 8.2 MB.

The designation of the project area enables the project proponent (the Secretary to the Department of Transport and Planning) to use the project delivery powers under the MTPF Act.
