This location in within two project area designations.

On 12 September 2019, the Minister for Planning designated the Station Street/Bondi Road, Bonbeach Level Crossing Removal Project Area under section 95 of the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 (MTPF Act).

The first project area is shown in the plans LEGL./18-106 Sheets 1 to 11 (inclusive).

On 7 April 2020, the Minister for Planning designated the Chelsea project area under section 95 of the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 (MTPF Act).

The second project area is shown in LEGL./19-049 Sheets 1 to 24 (inclusive).

The designation of the project area enables the project proponent (the Secretary to the Department of Transport and Planning) to use the project delivery powers under the MTPF Act.
