Truck movements in the local area – June to July 2023

To enable excavation works for the trench and remove material from the ‘Big Dig’, up to 60 truck movements every 12 hours will be required across the site from 2 June for about 3 weeks. Once we have dug the trenches, truck movements will continue at a reduced rate until early August to bring in construction materials to complete the trench, build the new Glen Huntly Station and rebuild the rail line.

To minimise disruption, trucks will be loaded at different locations along the rail line and the most direct routes to North Road and Dandenong Road will be used. See map below for truck haulage routes.

However, residents will notice an increase in traffic and trucks on local streets. Where possible trucks, replacement buses and community shuttles will detour using main roads. There may be some congestion and delays in the area due to additional traffic and trucks queuing to enter or exit the construction zones
