18 July 2025

We’re removing the level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale by building new rail bridges. We’re also removing and closing the Bear Street level crossing in Mordialloc and building a new Mordialloc Station.

In preparation to build the new rail bridges and rail infrastructure, we’ll work 24/7 from 7pm, Friday 18 July to 5pm, Sunday 20 July.

During this time, crews will:

  • continue piling and relocating services within the rail corridor
  • upgrade signals and rail electrical infrastructure
  • prepare the area for major construction.

What to expect

While we work, you may notice:

  • an increase in construction vehicles, workers, and noise in the area
  • heavy machinery operating within the rail corridor
  • additional lighting during night works
  • moderate levels of vibration.

Residents may experience noticeable noise impacts in the following locations:

  • Mordialloc Creek and Nepean Highway overpass, Mordialloc, and
  • Attenborough Road and Ruvina Street, Aspendale

Directional lighting will be in place at night and will be directed away from residential properties where possible.

We understand that these works may cause a noticeable increase in noise and vibration. We appreciate your patience while these works take place.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule, however the above works are subject to change.
