30 October 2026

We’ve removed the level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale to deliver faster and safer journey times by building new rail bridges. The new premium Mordialloc Station opened on Thursday 21 May.

What we’re doing

As we put the finishing touches on the project, we’ll continue minor works around the new infrastructure and public spaces across Mordialloc and Aspendale. This will include:

  • minor adjustments to roads, footpaths and landscaping
  • inspections and maintenance activities
  • line marking, signage and lighting adjustments
  • removing equipment and site facilities
  • minor works within the station precinct, along the rail corridor or within the Mordialloc Stabling Yard.

What to expect

During November and December, you may notice:

  • small work crews in the area
  • construction vehicles accessing the station precinct or rail corridor
  • temporary lane, carpark or footpath closures while minor activities are completed
  • intermittent traffic management during off-peak periods
  • noisy works at times
  • out of hours works at times. We’ll contact impacted residents and let traders know in advance.

Weekend works

To complete essential works in the stabling yard, crews will work from 7am to 7pm on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December, in the Mordialloc Stabling Yard.

Night works

To complete essential works in the rail corridor, crews will work from 7pm to 7am nightly from Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 December, between Como Parade West, in Parkdale and Pine Cresent in Aspendale.

During this time, we’ll work:

  • between Ashmore Avenue and McDonald Street, in the rail corridor
  • between McDonald Street and Bear Street, in the rail corridor
  • in the Mordialloc Stabling Yard and along the rail line at various locations
  • son Como Parade West for construction vehicle access into the rail corridor.

We'll make every effort to complete any required activities with minimal disruption and update any directly impacted residents and traders in advance. Our regular working hours at this stage of the project are Monday to Sunday, 7am to 7pm. During night works our working hours will also be from 7pm to 7am.
