2 September 2026
We’ve removed the level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale to deliver faster and safer journey times by building new rail bridges. The new premium Mordialloc Station opened on Thursday 21 May.
What we’re doing
As we put the finishing touches on the project, we’ll continue minor works around the new infrastructure and public spaces across Mordialloc and Aspendale.
The project remains on track to be complete by late 2026. There are no major works planned during September and October, however we will complete small-scale follow-up activities where required, such as:
- minor adjustments to roads, footpaths and landscaping
- inspections and maintenance activities
- line marking, signage or lighting adjustments
- minor works within the station precinct or rail corridor.
What to expect
During September and October you may notice:
- small work crews in the area
- construction vehicles accessing the station precinct or rail corridor
- temporary lane or footpath closures while minor activities are completed
- intermittent traffic management during off-peak periods
We'll make every effort to complete any required activities with minimal disruption, and update directly impacted residents and traders in advance. Our working hours at this stage of the project are Monday to Sunday, 7am to 7pm.
