17 July 2025
We’re removing the level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale by building new rail bridges. We’re also removing and closing the Bear Street level crossing in Mordialloc and building a new Mordialloc Station.
We have previously let you know via letterbox drop about upcoming works this month. This notice confirms the dates and details of this work.
Station Street changes
From Thursday 17 July (previously 9 July) until late August, a temporary road west of Station Street between the level crossing and Pine Crescent will be in use to maintain traffic flow in the area during sewer realignment and installation works.
What to expect
To maintain safe traffic flow, Attenborough Road will be closed at the intersection with Station Street. Most of the parking on Attenborough Road will remain available.
During this time, temporary no-standing zones will apply to ensure safe traffic movement:
- On Pine Crescent and Pine Court from 17 July to late August during school pick up and drop off times. Residents can continue to park in these streets at other times.
- No-standing zones will be enforced around nearby intersections. Kingston Council will be monitoring vehicles in no-standing zones within 5 meters of intersections. Fines may apply.
Some local congestion is expected, particularly during school pick up and drop off. Delays are expected, so please plan ahead. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Temporary bus stop closure
During this time, bus route 706 (to Chelsea Station) will not service the bus stop at Attenborough Road/Station Street. Passengers are advised to use the alternative bus stop at Pine Crescent/Station Street, approximately 250 meters south.
Please see map of these temporary changes below.
During these sewer realignment and installation works, we’ll work from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 7am to 3pm on Saturdays. If we need to work outside of our normal construction hours, we’ll be in touch with directly impacted residents and traders.
We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule, however works are subject to change.
