30 May 2025
We’re removing the level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale by building new rail bridges. We’re also removing and closing the Bear Street level crossing in Mordialloc and building a new Mordialloc Station.
To complete essential utility, drainage and road reinstatement works, McDonald Street will close between Main Street and Albert Street from 5am, Monday 16 June to early July. While McDonald Street is closed, drivers can detour via White Street or Bear Street. Please follow detour signage.
Upcoming night works
During the closure, crews will also work at night from 7pm to 7am, Tuesday 24 to Sunday 29 June to complete civil works and to relocate the underground water main. Temporary service interruptions may occur, and your utility provider will notify you ahead of time.
We’ll aim to minimise construction noise and vibration by completing noisy works during the day where we can. However, you may still notice some moderate levels of noise and vibration, as well as an increase in construction workers and machinery.
