17 July 2025

We’re removing the level crossings at McDonald Street in Mordialloc and Station Street in Aspendale by building new rail bridges. We’re also removing and closing the Bear Street level crossing in Mordialloc and building a new Mordialloc Station.

As we prepare for major construction to begin in August, piling works are underway to build the foundations of the new rail bridges.

To support upcoming major construction, we’ll work during the day and overnight to continue installing continuous flight auger (CFA) piles along the rail corridor between Attenborough Road and Eulinga Avenue in Aspendale.

We’ll work 24/7 from 7pm, Tuesday 22 July to 5am, Wednesday 30 July.

What to expect

While we work, you may notice:

  • an increase in construction vehicles and workers
  • heavy machinery operating within the rail corridor
  • additional lighting during night works
  • moderate to high levels of noise and vibration.

Directional lighting will be used at night for safety and will be aimed away from homes wherever possible.

We understand these works may create noticeable noise and vibration, and we appreciate your patience during this time.

We will be in touch with directly affected residents about relocation and support.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule, however timings are subject to change.
