8 January 2025
We’re removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.
What we're doing
We'll be closing Creek Street to vehicles from 7am, Wednesday 21 January to 7am, Friday 23 January to install a section of the Exford Road rail bridge. Crews will be working 24 hours a day.
Daytime works will also be carried out to build track formation and install drainage from 7am to 7pm, Monday 12 January to late February.
Changes to how you travel
- Creek Street closed with no vehicle access from 7am, Wednesday 21 January to 7am, Friday 23 January.
- On-street parking will be unavailable on Creek Street.
What to expect
- Works taking place 24 hours a day during the Creek Street closure.
- An increase in noise, lighting and construction workers in the area.
- Lane closure and intermittent stop and holds on Creek Street after the road closure.
Traffic management and signage will be in place to help you move around the area. Pedestrian access to properties on Creek Street will be maintained.
We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however dates and times are subject to change.
