Upcoming works - January
We’re removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.
We’re removing the level crossing at Ferris Road by building a new road bridge over the rail line.
In January, we’ll continue constructing the bridge deck, installing retaining walls and service investigation works.
Upcoming rail impacts, lane closure and night works
To safely complete works in January, there will be service changes on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough Lines from 10pm, Saturday 10 January to last service Friday 23 January.
There will also be a southbound lane closure at night on Ferris Road with detours in place and intermittent stops at times, from 7pm and 7am, Wednesday 14 January to Saturday 17 January.
We’ll also work during the night as times between 7pm, Tuesday 13 January and 7pm, Saturday 24 January to complete works while no trains are running.
