24 June 2026

We’ve removed the level crossing at Hopkins Road in Truganina and the boom gates at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads will be gone this year making Melton level crossing free. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station that will open this year.

We’re removing the level crossing at Ferris Road by constructing a new road bridge over the rail line.

We’ll continue to work 24/7 in July to connect the new road bridge with the existing area, and permanently remove the level crossing and boom gates. The new Ferris Road bridge will open to traffic on Wednesday 15 July.
