10 February 2025
We’re removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.
At times, we’ll be working at night near the Ferris Road level crossing from Monday 10 February to Friday 14 March to complete critical works on both sides of the level crossing.
These critical works are required to prepare the area for utility relocations. During this time, we’ll be drilling underground. We anticipate these works to be low impact. Access will be maintained for local businesses at all times.
Carrying out these works at night will minimise overall disruption for the community.
What to expect
- Night works in the area at times from Monday 10 February to Friday 14 March.
- An increase in construction activity during the night including drilling, excavation and movement in the area.
- Some activity and construction related noise, light and vibration may be noticeable.
- Traffic management in place, including reduced speed limits at times.
