Upcoming works - November

We’re removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.

We’re removing the level crossing at Ferris Road by building a new road bridge over the rail line. Over the coming months, we will install the bridge beams, begin construction of the bridge deck and construct the retaining walls.

November – night works and intermittent lane closures

We will work each night between 8pm and 5am, Sunday 9 November to Wednesday 12 November to safely install retaining panels on the new road bridge while trains are not running.

We’ll also be completing some excavation work in the area in November. To safely complete these works, there will be intermittent lane closures at times along Ferris Road. Traffic on Ferris Road will still be able to travel in either direction under traffic management.
