6 February 2025

We’re removing 4 dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.

What we’re doing

From Friday 14 February to Friday 7 March, we’ll be relocating the gas main underneath Exford Road. These works will involve digging trenches on either side of the level crossing to install new underground gas pipes.

To complete these works, Exford Road will be closed 24 hours a day at the level crossing over two weekends in February. There will also be intermittent closures of the southbound lane on Exford Road during these works.
