19 December 2024

We’re removing four dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free in 2026. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.

What we’re doing

  • Continuing earthworks and transporting large vehicles and machinery to site.
  • Upgrading the rail track near the level crossing.
  • Removing small trees and shrubs north of the level crossing.
  • Commencing piling in the project area to construct the foundations of the road bridge.
  • Relocating existing services in the areas and completing drainage works
