We’ve removed the level crossing at Hopkins Road in Truganina, and the boom gates at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads will be gone this year making Melton level crossing free. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station that will open this year.
What we're doing
- We’ll continue landscaping around the project area and constructing natural water storage basins.
- We will demobilise our temporary site compounds, remove construction equipment and reinstate the area. Our site compound will move to a smaller location within the project area.
- Complete track adjustments, guard rail installation and tamping while trains are not running.
Rail disruptions
There will be service changes on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines:
- from the night of Wednesday 22nd July to last service, Sunday 26 July.
Visit Transport Victoria for more information and to plan your journey. Please allow extra travel time.
24/7 works
We’ll work 24/7 from:
- 6pm, Wednesday 22 July to 5am, Monday 27 July to complete critical works inside the rail corridor while trains are not running.
What to expect
- There may be increased construction personnel, vehicles and equipment in the area.
- Traffic management, including lane closures and reduced speed limits at times.
- General working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm and Saturday, from 7am to 3pm, with some out of hours works necessary at times.
