18 March 2026

We’re removing four dangerous and congested level crossings at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads in Melton, and Hopkins Road in Truganina to make Melton boom gate free this year. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station.

What we’re doing

We’re closing Staughton Street from 9pm, Wednesday 1 April to 5am, Thursday 2 April to implement lane closures and temporarily remove some additional on street parking along sections of the road. These road changes will be in place from 5am, Tuesday 2 April until September. See maps below.

As we work at night to continue building the new Melton Station there will be service changes on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines from 9pm, Sunday 26 April to last service, Tuesday 28 April. Visit Transport Victoria for more information and to plan your journey. Please allow extra travel time.
