We’ve removed the level crossing at Hopkins Road in Truganina and the boom gates at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads will be gone this year making Melton level crossing free. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station that will open this year.

What we’re doing

There will be temporary changes to PTV bus stops on Brooklyn Road to allow us to build the new Melton Station northern forecourt, footpaths, car parking and bus interchange.

From Thursday 11 June to late 2026, there will be changes to the following bus routes:

• The PTV bus stops for routes 452 (to Eynesbury) and 457 (to Melton) will temporarily relocate from Brooklyn Road to Staughton Street.
• The PTV bus stops for routes 455 (to Harness) and 459 (to Melton West) and FlexiRide will temporarily relocate to another bus stop on Brooklyn Road, towards Coburns Road.

Where and when we'll be working

• Sections of the southern footpath on Brooklyn Road will be closed with detours in place from Thursday 11 June until early 2027.
• Road and lane closures at times during the day and night on Brooklyn Road between Exford Road and Hazel Street from Thursday 11 June until early 2027.
• Lane closures at times during the day on Staughton Street from Thursday 11 June until the end of June.

Sections of the Melton Station car park remain closed during these works, along with a section of the footpath on the southern side of Brooklyn Road. A pedestrian detour will be in place.

A free shuttle bus service is available to transport passengers from the north-western car park on Brooklyn Road to the temporary station from 6am to 9am and 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

All bus services will be maintained and pedestrian access to the station will be maintained throughout the works.

What to expect

• Works taking place during single nights, with an increase in lighting, noise and traffic movements.
• Traffic delays with lane closures in place.
• Dust minimised with watercarts.

Traffic management and signage will be in place to help you move around the area and access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however, dates and times are subject to change.
