15 July 2026
We’ve removed the level crossings at Hopkins Road in Truganina and Ferris Road in Melton. The new modern and accessible Melton Station will open and the boom gates will be gone at Coburns and Exford roads making Melton level crossing free in September.
What we're doing
We’re setting up a construction area at the corner of Coburns Road and James Melose Drive to undertake drainage and earthworks from Monday 20 July to late September.
There will also be changes to the walking and cycling path near Toolern Creek to safely detour around works.
What to expect
- Temporary closure of the left turn lane from Coburns Road to James Melrose Drive
- Walking and cycling detours near Toolern Creek
- Increased activity with machinery and work crews on site
- Dust minimised with watercarts.
Works will be completed during normal construction hours from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 7am to 1pm, Saturdays.
We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however, dates and times are subject to change.
