5 June 2026

We’ve removed the level crossing at Hopkins Road in Truganina and the boom gates at Coburns, Exford and Ferris roads will be gone this year making Melton level crossing free. We’re also building a new modern and accessible Melton Station that will open this year.

What we’re doing

We’ll be working at night in and around the rail corridor between Coburns Road and Exford Road to continue building the new Melton Station between 9pm and 4am, Sunday 21 June to Wednesday 24 June.

These works require access to the rail line and can only be undertaken while trains are not running.

Works include:

  • Ongoing construction of the new Melton Station.
  • Station glazing, screen and structural steel installation.
  • Cladding, roofing and platform works.

What to expect

  • Works taking place at night with increased lighting, noise and traffic in the area.
  • Increased works within the Melton Station precinct and site compound.
  • Dust minimised with watercarts.

We’ll make every effort to complete works on schedule; however, dates and times are subject to change.
